Personally, I don’t want our government to have any of these powers.  They should be an enabler not a provider and certainly not a dictator.  This much power is dangerous.

My fellow Special Interest Group Members,

I want to delight you with some excerpts from a mailer I just received that went out from the Bucks County GOP. This letter is in response to the interest of grassroots conservatives in running for State Committee seats. The letter I received has Gene Digirolamo’s signature on it, but rest assured it is canned by Pat Poprik and company as others I know received the same letter verbatim from their State Rep.

State Committee members are unsung heroes of our party… It is truly an honor to be elected to State Committee.

RESPONSE:

I could not agree more, and I will treat it as such when I am elected.

Because State Committee positions are so important, we must elect those who will rep Bucks County and not special interests.

RESPONSE:

Are you a “special interest”? Do you believe that our current Republican Party is representing Bucks County over the special interests? Our governement has gotten too large under both Democrat AND Republican administrations.  It has gotten to the point where our Commonwealth, if not our Nation could be on the verge of bankruptcy in the next few years.  This can not be blamed solely on Rendell, although he bares a large portion of it.  This is a result of the way the parties have been run for decades.  You can vote for the insiders who caused the problems, or you can vote in some new people; conservatives like you who are not political game players, but concerned citizens with the interests of Bucks County at heart.

I have not run for an office before, but I am running for Republican State Committee because, yes, I am a special interest. I have a special interest in seeing our children grow up in a free and sovereign Country, Commonwealth and County. I have a special interest in seeing our public servants be just that, public servants. I have a special interest in keeping our hard earned money in our pockets to pay for and donate to what we see fit. I have a special interest in seeing our nation once again be a nation of rugged individuals who build and create things that are the envy of the world. If you are a Republican in Bucks County, I hope you will vote for me tomorrow, May 18th and provide me the honor of serving your “special interests” in the state Republican Party.

The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference has just published their candidate questionnaire.  You can read it at http://www.pacatholic.org/faith-politics/get-to-know-the-candidates-primary-election-2010/.  Responses appear for candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Senator.

In this Philadelphia Inquirer article, they endorse Mike Fitzpatrick for the GOP nomination  in the 8th district (I announced my support for Fitzpatrick in this blog entry)  and Abington businessman Carson Dee Adcock for the 13th district.  They do not, however, offer any detailed analysis of why they chose these candidates. 

It’s interesting to see that a Gloria Carlineo supporter criticized the endorsement and suggested that Carlineo is the best candidate.  She has limited financial support, but her supporters are great at posting supportive responses to any and all posted articles.  Well done!
