Rendell Rejects Tea Party

Ed Rendell spoke out against the Tea Party movement (read about it here). Here said:
“There’s just no clout behind this movement. “It reflects what people feel, but the actual movement itself has no infrastructure, has no ability to bring a lot of people to key sites at key moments in time. If I organized a rally to have stronger laws to protect puppies, I would get 100,000 people in Washington without breaking a sweat.”
Like most of the media, he is missing the point. His puppy example, which he could not really pull off, is an example of getting people out one time for a cause. The Tea Party people meet on a continuous basis and discuss the issues facing out country. It is a sustained effort and underestimating that will prove to be a fatal mistake.
