Health Care Deals Unconstitutional?

I realize that our government representatives have always obtained  unfair and unconstitutional favors in exchange for their vote.  However, it is really sad that we have reached the point where they publically admit to ignoring the will of the people they represent (because  they know better) and the Constitution they swore to protect and defend.

I don’t claim to be a constitutional legal expert, but the following words make it clear to me that the favorable treatment obtained by Senator Nelson of Nebraska, and many others, are indeed unconstitutional:

Article 1, Section 9 – “No Preference thall be given by any Regulation of Commerce of Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another;…”

Artitle 4, Section 2 – “The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to the Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States”

Just because this has been “the way it is”, doesn’t mean it is the “way it has to be”.  We need to stay engaged and remove these “non-representatives” from Washington.  As Thomas Jefferson said:

We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.

The majority do not want this type of health care reform or this type of politician. Let’s be both the “majority” and the “majority who participate”.  Together, we can change this!
